Summer Reading Program: A Universe of Stories!

Registration for our annual Summer Reading Program begins at 10:00 AM on June 24th. The theme for 2019 is Space: A Universe of Stories. We’ll have some fun activities to kick off our Summer Reading Program and get everyone excited about reading!

We’ll have special activities on the 4 Fridays of July at 10:00 AM.

Library Budget Vote passed!

Thanks to everyone who came out to vote on our budget; it passed unanimously! And Mike Farkas and Bob Guiney were voted to continue serving on our Board.

Tuesday, May 14th is Tupper Lake Public Library annual Budget Vote, from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM in the main room of the library. Please come and support your library!

Spring Break is over

Spring Break activities at the library are over for this year. About 64 kids participated in 21 different events. You can see photos of our activities on our Facebook page. Thanks again to the Town of Tupper Lake and the Wild Center for collaborating with us and offering activities here for our kids.

Our next big event will be Registration for our Summer Reading Program. Registration starts on Monday, June 24th at 10:00 a.m. And we’ll have special events and crafts on the four Fridays in July. The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program is “Space: A Universe of Stories.” We’ll have lots of books, activities and crafts to go along with that theme. Stay tuned for more information.

Activities for Spring Break

We’re adding a new activity for Tuesday, from 12:00-1:00. Kali and Laura, from The Wild Center will be in our Community Room for a field journalism activity with different stations to do some self-exploring. Explore different artifacts, and then record your thoughts and observations. Bring your lunch or snack if you’d like.

And we’re adding a new activity for Wednesday, from 12:00-1:00. Kali and Laura, from The Wild Center will have an activity about the process of making maple syrup. Join us in our Community Room and bring your lunch or snack if you’d like.

Workshops during Spring Break

Tech Help @ the Library

Tech Help @ the Library! Students of the National Honor Society from the Tupper Lake High school will be at the library every Wednesday (that school is in session) to help with technology. From 3:00 – 5:00 pm each Wednesday, students will be available to help you with any of your technical questions with your phone, laptop, tablet, etc.  This service is free, so please join us in the library with your questions.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The next Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for February 28th in the library’s Community Room from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. To make an appointment, go to http://www.redcrossblood.org/ or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Remember about RapidPass, a new tool that lets blood donors to help save lives in less time.
