Library to suspend all lending effective immediately

Given new information recently released from the National Institutes of Health regarding the lifespan of coronavirus on a variety of surfaces, the library has decided to stop lending all materials at this time.
Most of our books are covered in plastic and the study found that the coronavirus remains detectable on plastic for 2-3 days.

Library Closure UPDATE

Due to the rapid spread of the Corona virus, with a recent confirmed case in the North Country, the Tupper Lake Public Library will be closing its doors at noon today, March 17th. As stated before, we will continue to provide modified service. If you would like to borrow materials just give us a call and if we have them in-house we will put them out in the lobby for you to pick up during regular business hours.

Stay safe everyone.

Library Closed

In order to safeguard the health and well-being of our patrons and staff during the present COVID-19 pandemic, the Tupper Lake Public Library will be closed to the public beginning Thursday, March 19th.

Staff will continue to work behind the scenes to clean and disinfect the library, process collections, and make improvements to our service model.

Though our doors will be closed, we will continue to loan books to the public. During our regular open hours library staff will be on hand to take requests for in-house materials over the phone (518-359-9421). Items will be available for pick up in the front lobby during normal operating hours. No need to come in the library, no need to interact with staff. This is all in an attempt to maintain the social distancing recommended by the CDC and local health departments, while still providing services to our community.

We will miss seeing all of our regular patrons here in person, but these are extraordinary times and it is imperative that we take steps to keep each other safe.

Library meetings canceled

In the interest of protecting our patrons and staff, especially the high-risk populations we serve, the Library is canceling ALL programs, events, meetings, and meeting room reservations for the rest of March.
THE LIBRARY WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE WITH REGULAR HOURS.
The safety of our patrons, volunteers, and staff is always of utmost importance in all of our decision making. We encourage any patron to stay home if they are feeling ill, or are concerned about potential exposure. We want all of our patrons, volunteers, staff, and their families to stay safe and be well.
PLEASE NOTE: Fingerprinting will still be available downstairs in the Community Room, every Tuesday by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 877-472-6915.
