Know the 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s

On March 28th there will be a free presentation: Know the 10 Signs: A workshop presented by the Alzheimer’s Association. The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as inevitable parts of normal aging. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts. Early detection is the key to improving quality of life for anyone affected by memory impairment. Attend this interactive workshop to learn the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s disease where we separate myth from reality and address commonly-held fears about Alzheimer’s and dementia. Hear from people who have the disease and find out how to recognize the signs in yourself and others. Appropriate Audience – Anyone who is interested in learning the warning signs of Alzheimer’s, and a little information about Alzheimer’s disease. For more information or to register for this program, contact Tonya Garmley at 518-867-4999 ext. 200. Meet in our Community Room at 11:00 AM.

Red Cross Blood Drive

There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive on March 23rd in the library’s Community Room from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. Because of the recent snow storms, the Red Cross has lost roughly 3900 units and they believe that number will climb as the week goes on. The need is constant and critical right now! Can you help? To make an appointment, go to http://www.redcrossblood.org/ or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Remember about RapidPass, a new tool that lets blood donors complete questions ahead of time, and save time.
