Banned Books week

September 27th to October 3rd is Banned Books week! Celebrate and promote, as ALA states it, “the freedom to choose or the freedom to express one’s opinions even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular, and stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of those viewpoints to all who wish to read them.” Click here to learn about banned books and see lists of challenged books for recent years.

Author of the month – Chris Bohjalian

Our Author of the month is Chris Bohjalian. We’re highlighting Bohjalian’s books in our display case. Come and write down your favorite title. At the end of the month, we’ll randomly draw a name, and that person will win a prize. We actually have many more Bohjalian titles than what appears in this picture — they’re all out on loan!
