Summer Reading Program: Every Hero has a Story

This morning we had a visit from NY State Trooper Mike Keniston, Trooper Mike Kohan, and Tupper Lake Police Chief Eric Proulx, who came to speak to the children about heroes and how to be a hero. Then the officers showed the children the police car, with lights and sirens! Thank you to all our law enforcement officers who serve and protect and keep us safe!

Author visit on July 8th

Gail Huntley, author from Long Lake, comes for a book talk. She’ll talk about her latest book: Long Lake: Adirondack Heartland, 1910-1980+. Join us at 5:30, upstairs in the library.

About the book: the rich traditions of the Long Lake settlers continue throughout this book as they battle fire, wind, treachery, disease, and local politics. This book follows the history through the heyday of the large hotels, stagecoaches, steamships, automobiles, and snowmobiles. The saga reveals how major international, national, and local events continued to impact these families nestled snug in the hamlet of Long Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of New York.
