Affordable Care Act information

Our Library System has put together a libguide at http://cefls.libguides.com/healthinsurance  which lists the main websites and also the toll free number and the  local agencies that are offering help with enrollment in the new health insurance program.

Our Library staff cannot help you enroll, which would involve finding out your personal information, but you can find helpful information in the libguide. And our library is already offering space for the “navigators” (in-person helpers) to come and provide 1-on-1 advice on your options.

On November 19 – Massena Independent Living Center, Inc. (MILC) will be here (and on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month) from 10:00-2:00 to provide free in-person one-on-one advice and navigation of the new Federal Health Care reform and health insurance requirements. This includes: information, assistance understanding the law requirements, assistance with screening for health insurance eligibility, assistance with applying for public and private health insurances, and understanding the tax credits and penalties associated with this new reform. All services are provided to individuals, families, and small businesses throughout Franklin County. For more information or to schedule an exact meeting time – contact Courtnie at (518) 483-2151 or (315) 764-9442.
